Richelle Mead reading Bloodlines

Hey guys you know I am a huge VA fan so I like to watch out for all things Richelle Mead or Vampire Academy related.  Here is the first reading of Bloodlines chapter 1 by Richelle Mead at the Minneapolis signing. It so good and I am wondering what's going on this world!!!

I am so excited about reading this book this summer. I am super jealous of the ARCs that people got from this signing and BEA,I wish I was there. So if there is anyone this blogging world that wants to share their ARC with me please do. I so want to read Bloodlines asap and I know I will only be left wanting more but I don't care!!!! I love Richelle Mead she's such an awesome author. If you haven't read Vampire Academy where have you been under a rock??? If so, it's a much brighter world out there with Vampire Academy. This is  such an amazing series and a must read!!!

Review: The Demon Trapper's Daughter: Jana Oliver

The Demon Trapper's Daughter: Jana Oliver
Synopsis: Goodreads

Riley Blackthorne just needs a chance to prove herself – and that’s exactly what the demons are counting on…

Seventeen-year-old Riley, the only daughter of legendary Demon Trapper, Paul Blackthorne, has always dreamed of following in her father's footsteps.  The good news is, with human society seriously disrupted by economic upheaval and Lucifer increasing the number of demons in all major cities, Atlanta’s local Trappers’ Guild needs all the help they can get – even from a girl. When she’s not keeping up with her homework or trying to manage her growing crush on fellow apprentice, Simon, Riley’s out saving distressed citizens from foul-mouthed little devils – Grade One Hellspawn only, of course, per the strict rules of the Guild. Life’s about as normal as can be for the average demon-trapping teen.

But then a Grade Five Geo-Fiend crashes Riley’s routine assignment at a library, jeopardizing her life and her chosen livelihood.  And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, sudden tragedy strikes the Trappers’ Guild, spinning Riley down a more dangerous path than she ever could have imagined. As her whole world crashes down around her, who can Riley trust with her heart – and her life?

My Review:
So to begin when I first saw this book I really liked the cover. It was red my favorite color. I liked the title and I loved how the girl was looking over the world with that weird globe thing come to find out they are spheres of magic. I was so excited to have won this book and finally read it! I was deciding between this book and hex hall and this one won..  SOME SPOILERS!!

Now with all this excited about this book I was expecting to be really good. And I have to stay this book definitely wasn’t what I thought it would be but it was good.
The book started off slow and was a bit hard for me to get a hand of reading. First off because the author’s writing was a bit weird for me. The book is written in the 3rd POV, but at time it would like switch up on me and be 1st and I would get confused with who’s talking or who they are talking about. Another thing that bugged me was it at times got a bit too detailed. But I was happy to find out that the author didn’t kill the story with details. It’s one of those books that when you go from chapter to chapter it doesn’t skip scenes or anything it tells you what happens which ends up being pretty good for the book. Okay now for the good stuff!!!!

I really grew to like the main character Riley. She was kick ass in her own way and didn’t stand down to know one. She was so strong after her father dying you could tell how much she missed him and wanted to right by him. She would stay up all night doing the vigil to make sure he wasn’t reanimated from the dead. I was bit skeptical about her in the beginning because I couldn’t get of sense of who she was but that changer right away after I got into the book and things started rolling. I love those main characters that don’t they are horribly ugly or why would he ever like me. I am happy to say she wasn’t like at all. She really want to make her father proud and I love how she has that sense of integrity to her. She reminded me of Rose because of all the trouble she would find or trouble finding her. I really like how she wanted to prove to the other trappers that girls can be trappers to.

Beck was interesting at first he was blah, but his history man I feel bad for. I think he’s really falling for Riley but he doesn’t want to admit it because that’s his mentor’s daughter and he wants to do right by Paul and just protect. Though he seriously could b doing a lot of things better but I do like him. I also like Simon he’s so sweet and so cute. At the end when I thought he was going to die.. I was like nooo don’t do that please how can they kill him off. So I guess that means I really like him.

The story is something new and refreshing and I like how the demons get trapped and get sold. That necromancer that always scared Riley would do some creepy things that had me scared lol. I like how it was a realistic world but with crazy stuff going on. It was enjoyable to read how all things that relevant to us now are relevant in the book. I also want to know about that hunk ORI he sounds yummy!

Overall I think the book was really good and I really want to know what happens to Riley and how she will save the world. I think at least for me it took me about 100 pages to really liking the book. I’m very glad I stuck with it because there was a point at the beginning I was like ehhh I don’t even feel like finishing. But thankfully since I always finish everything I start reading I wasn’t pleasantly surprised at how good the book was. I was going to rate it a 3 and I give it a solid 4. I really would love to hear other’s opinion on this book. I think if the sequel is done right it could be a great series!

Cover:
I love this cover is so pretty and sparkly in it's own way.. It's simple and beautiful!
My Review:
WOW OH WOW!!! I loved this book so much it was so good. If you haven’t gotten this book please do ASAP! Pick it up now. I love this book for many reason first off it was something new and refreshing, the writing was so funny and great, and the characters were so enjoyable, and the plot was so good I was left guessing all the way!

Okay so the book started off right away it makes sense since the book is only 240 pages. Okay so the writing was so funny. It’s so witty yeah I think that’s the word. There is sarcasm and many times I was left actually laughing out loud which I rarely do. I loved how this book was a different and new aspect of paranormal romance and still had suspense and mystery it was so good I can’t stop gushing.

The main character Clare (Clarity) she was so funny and strong. Even though people might have teased her or said some mean things. She didn’t let it faze her. She never let them see her down. Man she had great comebacks and she was kickass in her own way just by her personality. I mean I love the phrase “welcome to freak-show”.  Even though she might have been drooling for a guy she never thought she wasn’t worthy or if acted mean she set him straight and didn’t let his appearance get in the way which I loved. Clare is just full of awesomeness. Thank you Kim Harrington for such a great heroine!

Justin is so sweet. I understand he mest up and what he did was wrong but you just can’t help but love the kid. There is definitely something special about him! Gabriel is now our new hot dark haired guy. He’s smart and is not easy on Clare. He definitely was able to make your flutter! I see interesting relationship with him and Clare, at least I hope so!!! Now Perry dear old brother Perry I loved him. I love how they were real siblings they cared about one another hung out and actually seemed like he gave a crap. He reminded of a much better and nicer Jason Stackhouse because of the way he slept with all the tourist that came visiting the town.

The suspense and mystery in this book was great. I could not figure out the killer. There was a point in the book that I suspected everyone except Clare lol. What an amazing debut author I am so excited to have won this book!!! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Review: My Soul to Take: Rachel Vincent

My Soul to Take: Rachel Vincent
Synopsis: Goodreads

She doesn't see dead people, but She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.
Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next
Cover:
I thought it was okay I like the pose and flowy dress but the title with the picture looks like it's a book about demons lol
My Review:
Okay how to begin this review. The book was pretty good. It was definitely unique and something new I have never read about. I like how the book began right away and was full of a bunch of things happening. I liked Kaylie she was okay and I like how helpful Nash was to her. I loved how he had those swirling eyes changing colors and I knew he had to know what was going on with Kaylie I had a feeling about. I think overall the book was pretty good but it wasn’t wonderful.

I definitely wanted to know what happened and was anxious to find out but I haven’t decided if I want to continue reading the series. I really like Tod I think he was my favorite character he was funny and I like how he was brooding in a way. I think this series has a lot of potential so I might continue it but we will see. There were only two  things that bothered me. One I hated that Kaylie was insecure, she didn’t feel worthy of Nash, I have always liked those strong heroine. Not that she wasn’t but she was a bit ehhh. Secondly I figured out what the borrowed time meant like really early on and Kaylie didn’t figure it out till her father tol her. I mean come on!!  But still pretty good not too many complaints. I think it’s different and interesting; it’s just not one of those books that scream MUST READ!!!!

AWAY & BEING NEGLECTFUL TO MY BLOG!!

Okay so I know I been super duper neglectful this month with my blog and reading books! Last week was finals week and today I am actually taking a flight to New York to go on vacation for week!! (A well deserved one at that!) So I will be back next week. I am bringing 5 books to read and I am really hoping I can read about 3 or so!!

You know this blog has been a really funny thing. There would be times I would freak out because I wasn't making regular post ie.. (reviews, memes, commenting on blogs) and I always felt like I was bound to get in trouble. I always felt like there's a blog police out there ready to execute any bloggers that have a blog and aren't using it all the time! I know that sounds ridiculous but that's how I felt when I wouldn't make a post for days. It took me a while to remember it's okay if I can't post regularly because this is suppose to be for FUN!!! I don't have any deadlines ie. (work or school). I can take a break without anyone coming down my neck!!  Either way though I still want to regularly post again I just got figure how to balance it out now that school has ended and I am beginning a new full time internship!

I love all the comments and feedback I get from all the followers, and I am still pretty amazed that there's anyone that remotely interested in what I have to say about the books I read! SO for that I am so thankful and why I want to maintain a great blog for you guys :-)

Be back soon!
